Engine goes in
Length from mount to rear of spinner was supposed to be 114mm. I'm 0.9 out 🙁
It's not permanently mounted yet because the rear firewall fasteners are a bitch to get to get to. The 16mm bolts barely cut it for length so I figured I'd use longer ones to pull the firewall fastener in place then use the 16mm bolts. That or I'll cut the longer ones down to suit.
My new four stroke engine
The OS .70 FS 2 is destined to go in the Giles 202. Too big for the model designed for a .50 - .61 4 stroke? I hope so 🙂
Landing Gear
Installed the landing gear yesterday. Gonna need some radio gear and engine before I make a whole lot more progress.
Suggested engine size is .40 to .46 2 stroke. I'm thinking I'd like to put a .61 4 stroker in it. I've never used a four stroke before but always liked the sound of 'em.
The radio gear will probably have to come out od my current model, the mid wing Precedent fun-fly.
giles_202_wing repair 1
repair job on the damaged Giles 202. You can see the covering was split. I've applied a clear layer over the top which when you view from a little further back, looks alright. Not bad considering the kit cost me $80 and usually retails for about $215. Clear covering cost $17.95.
