New VE dashboard – sportwagon
So today my new dashboard was fittted! About time! It hasn't been excessively bright in Melbourne today so I haven't had much of a chance to see what it looks like on a bright day. So far with direct sunlight though it looks ok.
I think what finally made it happen was my persistence. Every time Holden sent me a letter in the mail, or email telling me how good their service is, I would ring up and question that because I was having a terrible experience. "You want me to bring my car to you for a service? Yeah, ok, but first fix what's broken from day 1". Eventually, and this is the key for anyone in the same boat, you need to contact the customer service line on 1800 033 349, and get a TAS case raised ( I think that's Technical Assistance Support). Once I had that done, Holden was actually calling me every week to find out if I was happy yet. I kept telling them "I will be as soon as you put that new dashboard in. Stop calling me and send the bloody thing to the dealer!"
Now if only all this had happened about 8 months ago everyone would have been much happier. Holden would have saved time and money as I've had my car back there 4 or 5 times and I wouldn't be bagging them on my website.
So it looks like problem solved. A bit of a sour taste leftover but I got there in the end.
